X Series at a Glance
The Hangcha X Series 3.5-8 t tractor is a seated diesel tow tractor for heavy trailer trains on short and medium runs, such as point-to-point transport between buildings and yards. Seven models, QCD35 to QCD80, cover a rated drawbar pull of 35,000 to 80,000 N. As with the smaller 2-3 t model, the number in the name isn't the towing load: this IC tow tractor is rated to tow 47-100 tonnes on one trailer and 70-150 t on two.
- Engines: a Yuchai YCA05 diesel at 85 kW on the QCD35 to QCD50, or a Yuchai YCA07 at 118 kW on the QCD60 to QCD80, with a powershift transmission (2 forward gears, 1 reverse) and a 165 L fuel tank.
- Driving: 22-24 km/h unladen, up to 30% gradeability unladen and a 3,850 mm turning radius (4,450 mm on the QCD60 to QCD80).
- Size: 1,930 mm wide and 3,825-3,865 mm long, with a 470 mm coupling height and a service weight of 5,800-10,600 kg. The QCD60 to QCD80 have four rear tyres.
Air-over-hydraulic brakes work on all wheels through two independent circuits, can be set up to control trailer brakes and still hold when the engine is off. The front end is built from 20 mm steel plate for pushing, the coupling has a safety buckle and self-locking pin, and the flexibly mounted cab has heating and air conditioning. These are large machines, so check gates, ramps and turning areas on your route before you order. Lighter trains suit the X Series tow tractor 2-3 t.
