How do LPG and diesel running costs compare with lithium electric?
DJJ's own estimate, based on Sydney figures, is about $7 a shift to charge a lithium forklift against about $40 to $70 a shift for LPG or diesel. The real gap depends on your usage, power and fuel prices, and a combustion machine still makes sense where charging is impractical.
Which forklifts in this range can run on petrol?
Petrol is offered on some Hangcha model codes alongside diesel and LPG, while most of the range is diesel or LPG. Confirm the fuel option for the exact model and capacity you need, since the engine and fuel system vary by model code.
Do I need a licence to drive an LPG or diesel forklift?
Yes. A sit-down LPG, petrol or diesel forklift is a forklift truck, so operators need a High Risk Work Licence in class LF. Holders must be 18 or older and a licence is generally valid for five years; confirm current requirements with SafeWork NSW, WorkSafe Queensland, WorkSafe WA or your regulator.
