Electric pallet jacks for sale: walkie and rider

An electric pallet jack lifts a pallet just clear of the floor and moves it across a warehouse, loading dock or truck deck. It suits sites that move pallets at ground level but don't need to stack them onto racking. DJJ Equipment sells Hangcha electric pallet trucks from 1.5 to 3.63 tonnes in walk-behind, stand-on and rider layouts, plus scissor-lift pallet trucks that raise the load to a comfortable working height.

Walkie or ride-on: match the jack to your travel distance

A walk-behind pallet jack suits short runs, such as unloading a truck at the dock or moving pallets between bays, and it fits into tight spaces and onto truck decks. On longer runs across a large warehouse, a stand-on or rider pallet truck saves the operator walking and keeps them fresher across a shift. End-control riders suit long straight runs, while centre-control riders give the operator a clear view in both directions.

Capacity, forks and your pallets

Choose a capacity above your heaviest pallet, not equal to it, and leave a margin for uneven loads. Standard pallet trucks lift 120 to 150 mm, which is enough to clear the floor and pass over dock plates. Match the fork length to your pallets: longer forks can carry two pallets end to end on models that offer them, while shorter forks turn more tightly. Low-profile models such as the WS Series slide under lower pallets.

Ramps, dock plates and floors

Electric pallet jacks work best on smooth, level floors. Capacity and control drop on slopes, so check the gradient limit for the model before using it on a ramp or dock plate, and keep loads within it. Rough or broken concrete shortens the life of the wheels and makes the load harder to control.

Lithium or lead-acid battery?

Most pallet trucks in our range run on lithium-ion, which you can top up at breaks and which needs little day-to-day attention. Lead-acid is offered on selected models such as the WD and XA Series, and suits a single shift with a full overnight charge, with regular watering and a ventilated charging area. Use the charger specified for the battery either way.

Do operators need a licence?

Pallet trucks, including rider models, are excluded from the forklift licence class, so operators don't need a high risk work licence. The business still has to train and instruct everyone who uses one. Scissor-lift pallet trucks raise the load well above the floor, so confirm the training and licence position for those models with your state regulator.

Buy or hire a pallet jack

DJJ Equipment sells new Hangcha electric pallet trucks and also offers forklift hire that covers pallet jacks on selected models. Availability varies by location and term, and minimum hire terms depend on the machine and branch.

Service, parts and support

Warranty terms are listed on each product page, for example 12 months or 2,000 hours on most of our pallet trucks. Servicing, repairs and parts come from our branches in Silverwater, Meadowbrook and Bayswater, with on-site service in selected areas, subject to technician availability.

Before you choose, check:

  • Your heaviest pallet and the pallet sizes you handle
  • How far each pallet travels and how many moves a shift
  • Ramps, dock plates and floor condition
  • Space to turn in aisles, trucks and containers
  • When and where the battery will charge

Tell us your heaviest pallet, how far you move it and how many hours a day you run, and our team will recommend an electric pallet jack to buy or hire. Call 1800 355 388 or send an enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you speak with the team.

Do I need a forklift licence to use a pallet jack?

No LF licence is needed, because pallet trucks and pedestrian-operated trucks are excluded from the High Risk Work Licence definition of a forklift truck. Operators still need training and instruction, and the business must manage the risk under WHS law, so confirm details with your state regulator.

How high can an electric pallet truck lift a pallet?

Most electric pallet trucks in the DJJ range lift between 120 mm and 197 mm, enough to clear the pallet off the floor for horizontal moves. The exception is the XB pallet truck with scissor lift, which raises its platform to between 1.0 m and 2.0 m across its models.

Can an electric pallet jack be used on ramps?

Use an electric pallet jack on a ramp only within the manufacturer's gradient limit for that model, because capacity drops on slopes. Check dock plates and loading ramps on your route against the model's specifications before you buy.

Is a pallet jack or a pallet stacker right for my site?

A pallet jack moves pallets at floor level, so it suits docks, trucks and short horizontal runs. If you need to place pallets onto racking or stack them on top of each other, a walkie or pallet stacker lifts the load to height.

How much does an electric pallet jack cost to buy or hire?

Product pages do not show prices, because capacity, battery type and features such as a scissor lift platform change the price, with lithium costing more upfront than lead-acid. Pallet jacks are also among the machines DJJ hires on selected models, with minimum terms depending on the machine and branch. Any running pallet truck deals, with prices and conditions, are on our current offers page.

What warranty applies to DJJ electric pallet trucks?

Most Hangcha pallet trucks sold by DJJ carry a warranty of 12 months / 2,000 hours, shown on each product page. A few listings do not show a warranty figure, so confirm the terms for your chosen model when you request a quote.
