Cushion Tyre Forklift

A cushion tyre forklift runs on solid rubber tyres pressed onto the wheel, which keeps the truck low, short and tight-turning on smooth concrete. DJJ Equipment sells Hangcha cushion tyre forklifts from 1.4 to 7 tonnes in electric and LPG, including special models for paper rolls and box car loading. All are rated at a 600 mm load centre.

• XC Series Electric Cushion Tyre Forklift 1.8-3.5 t: 1,810-3,500 kg, an 80V lithium battery, widths from 1,070 mm and lift heights up to 7.3 m on the quad mast.
• XC Series Electric Cushion Tyre Forklift 3.5-5.5 t: 3,500-5,500 kg on an 80V battery, with triplex masts to 6 m.
• XC Series Electric Cushion Tyre Forklift 6-7 t: 6,000-7,000 kg on a 96V/800Ah battery, travelling at up to 18.5 km/h laden, with masts to 6.2 m.
• XF Series LPG Cushion Tyre Forklift 1.4-2.9 t: 1,360-2,950 kg with GCT LPG engines of 43-47 kW and lift heights up to 7 m.
• XF Series LPG Cushion Tyre Forklift 6-7 t: 6,000-7,000 kg, still carrying 5,800-6,800 kg at a 6.2 m lift.
• XF Series Box Car Cushion Forklift 3.5-5.5 t: an LPG truck for loading enclosed bodies such as rail box cars and containers, carrying 3,000-5,000 kg at a 6 m lift.
• XF Series Paper Roll Cushion Forklift 5.5 t: an LPG truck for paper roll handling, rated 5,500 kg and 5,000 kg at 6 m with forks, with a 61.6 kW or 77 kW engine.

Cushion tyres or pneumatic tyres?

Cushion tyres suit smooth, dry, level concrete: warehouses, factories, loading docks and the floors of containers and box cars. They make the truck more compact than a pneumatic-tyre forklift of the same capacity, so it turns tighter and works in narrower aisles.

The trade-off is ride and grip: on rough concrete, gravel, ramps with loose material or wet outdoor yards, a forklift on pneumatic or solid pneumatic tyres is the safer choice, and our other counterbalance forklifts come on those tyres.

Electric or LPG cushion tyre forklift?

The electric XC models produce no exhaust at the point of use and suit enclosed warehouses and food sites, and the 1.8-3.5 t models use a lithium battery that can be topped up at breaks on multi-shift work. The LPG XF models refuel in minutes with a cylinder swap and suit long shifts where charging is hard to arrange, but they can work indoors only where ventilation is adequate. Both cover the 1.4 to 7 tonne range, so the choice usually comes down to the building and the shift pattern.

Box car and paper roll models

For box car and container work, check the lowered mast height and free lift against the door height and the roof of the body you are loading. For paper rolls, the truck usually works with a clamp, and any attachment reduces the capacity the truck can use, so confirm roll weights and clamp compatibility before you order.

Licence, hire and support

A cushion tyre forklift is a counterbalance forklift truck, so operators need a High Risk Work Licence in class LF. We offer forklift hire on selected electric and LPG models, with minimum hire terms depending on the machine and branch. The cushion tyre listings do not show a warranty figure yet, so confirm the warranty in writing with your quote. Every machine we sell gets a pre-delivery inspection before it leaves us, and servicing, repairs and parts come from our branches in Silverwater, Meadowbrook and Bayswater, with on-site service within 50 km of each branch.

• Floor surface along the whole travel route
• Heaviest load and the capacity at your top lift height
• Aisle width, door heights and container or box car openings
• Electric or LPG for your building and ventilation
• Attachments such as clamps and the capacity they cost
