Choosing Between the YC10 and U18 Mini Excavators
The YC10 is a 1-tonne mini excavator built for tight spaces, with a 7.2 kW Yanmar 2TNV70 engine, an expandable undercarriage, a swing boom and a foldable ROPS canopy for low transport and storage height.
- Access: the tracks retract for narrow openings (the brochure quotes 740 mm contracted), and the 870 mm tail swing radius suits confined sites where a larger excavator cannot work.
- Working range: 1,435 mm digging depth, 2,845 mm reach and 2,755 mm digging height with a 0.02 m³ bucket.
- Against the U18: the U18 nearly doubles the weight to 1,880 kg, with a 14.5 kW Yanmar engine, 2,295 mm digging depth and 4,125 mm reach.
