Choosing a Diesel Articulated Boom Lift: Working Height and Outreach
The Hangcha HZ series diesel articulated boom lift reaches up, out and over obstacles for outdoor construction and industrial work. Thirteen versions cover working heights from 14.8 m to 56.86 m, so the main choice is how high and how far out you need to work.
- HZ140H to HZ280H (14.8-28 m working height): a 230 kg platform, 4x4 drive with two-wheel steering and a Yanmar engine. Outreach grows from 8 m to 17.28 m and weight from 7,000 kg to 17,000 kg.
- HZ320H to HZ400H (32-40.1 m): a dual rating of 480 kg or 320 kg on a 2.44 x 0.91 m platform, with outreach of 19-21.6 m. From the HZ330H the machines steer on all four wheels. The HZ400H comes as a standard or X-leg version.
- HZ470H and HZ570H (47 m and 56.86 m): the tallest models, with 23 m and 25 m outreach, a Cummins engine (Cummins or Deutz on the HZ570H) and a 24V control system. The HZ570H weighs 30,280 kg.
Every model travels at up to 4.2-4.4 km/h stowed and slows to 0.8-1.1 km/h with the platform raised, and the smaller models climb 40-45% grades. The basket levels automatically, travel and boom speeds are limited at height, a foot switch must be held down to operate, and boom movement is limited when the machine stands on ground more than 5 degrees out of level.
