Choosing an Aerial Work Platform
Aerial work platforms provide access for maintenance, installation and other tasks at height. The range includes mast lifts for compact indoor spaces, scissor lifts for vertical access and boom lifts for jobs requiring horizontal outreach.
Start with the working height, access route and ground conditions. The right equipment also depends on platform capacity, whether the work is directly overhead and how often the machine needs to move between positions.
Before you choose, check:
- Required working height and platform capacity
- Indoor or outdoor use and ground conditions
- Doorway clearance and transport dimensions
- Vertical access or horizontal outreach
- Site access and safe operating space
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you speak with the team.
What working heights and platform capacities does the access range cover?
The Hangcha access equipment listed by DJJ Equipment reaches working heights of up to 63 m on the largest diesel telescopic boom. Platform capacities run from 113 kg to 1,150 kg depending on the model, with the highest ratings on the diesel rough terrain scissor lift. Browse the boom lift range for the tallest working heights.
Do operators need a licence to use an elevating work platform?
Only for boom-type platforms. Operating a boom-type elevating work platform with a boom length of 11 metres or more needs a high risk work licence in class WP, with boom length measured as the platform floor height at full extension or the outreach, whichever is greater. Scissor lifts and vertical mast lifts need no licence, but the business must give operators suitable training, information and instruction. Confirm details with SafeWork NSW, WorkSafe Queensland or WorkSafe WA.
Can I hire an aerial work platform from DJJ?
The scissor, boom and mast lifts on this page are sale listings. If you only need access equipment for a short job, ask the DJJ team about availability at your nearest branch in Sydney, Brisbane or Perth before you plan the work.
How is a new access platform delivered to my site?
DJJ delivers access equipment Australia wide from its Sydney, Brisbane and Perth branches, with delivery and collection quoted separately. Coverage outside the branch service areas is confirmed at quote stage, so include your site address, access route and any height restrictions when you ask for a price.
Who services scissor, boom and mast lifts after purchase?
The DJJ Service Team handles scheduled servicing, fault diagnosis and mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs from workshops in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, with on-site service where practical in selected areas. Check your access platform model with the service team on 1300 646 747.
What warranty applies to Hangcha access equipment from DJJ?
Warranty is shown per model on each product page. Some access listings, such as the XEN and XEQ scissor lifts and the electric articulated boom lift, show 12 months / 2,000 hours, while others show no figure, so confirm the warranty for your model when you request a quote.
