Choosing an A Series 3-5 t Tow Tractor: Capacity and Battery
The Hangcha A Series electric tow tractor is a compact stand-on tractor for pulling trolleys and trailers around warehouses and factories. It comes in two towing capacities, 3,000 kg (QDD3) and 5,000 kg (QDD5), and each is offered with a standard 24V lead-acid battery or as an -I version with a 24V lithium iron phosphate battery.
- QDD3: tows 3,000 kg with a 2.2 kW AC drive motor, a rated drawbar pull of 600 N and up to 2,400 N for 5 minutes. Service weight is 900 kg.
- QDD5: tows 5,000 kg with a 3 kW motor, 1,000 N rated drawbar pull and up to 3,200 N for 5 minutes. Service weight is 1,000 kg.
- Battery: lead-acid 24V/270Ah (QDD3) or 24V/360Ah (QDD5), with larger packs optional. The lithium versions use 24V/125Ah or 228Ah, charge fully in 2 hours and carry a 6-year or 12,000-hour warranty.
Every model is 830 mm wide and travels at 7 km/h laden and 10 km/h unladen, with a laden gradeability of 4%. The lithium versions are 38 mm longer, so the turning radius is 1,210 mm against 1,172 mm for lead-acid. The operator stands on a shock-absorbing pedal with an adjustable backrest, and electric steering, a multi-function handlebar and sideways battery change are standard.
