Choosing an Electric Rough Terrain Forklift: 2WD or 4WD
The Hangcha high-voltage lithium rough terrain forklift brings battery power to outdoor work on uneven ground. It runs on a 317V/150Ah CATL lithium battery (46.4 kWh) that charges fully in about 1.5 hours, and lifts 2,500, 3,000 or 3,500 kg at a 500 mm load centre. Each capacity comes in two drive layouts.
- RT2 (2WD): a single 30 kW front drive motor, a 2,850 mm turning radius and a 4,635-4,650 mm aisle for 1000 x 1200 mm pallets crossways.
- RT4 (4WD): front and rear drive motors (30 kW and 15 kW), with a 3,300 mm turning radius and a 5,085-5,100 mm aisle.
- Capacity and climbing: gradeability is 63% on the 2.5 t models, 55% on the 3 t and 52% on the 3.5 t, and the 2.5 t lifts fastest at 0.62 m/s laden.
All six models travel at 24/26 km/h laden and unladen on pneumatic tyres, with 225-290 mm of ground clearance and a differential lock as standard. The standard lift is 3,000 mm, with duplex masts to 4,500 mm and full free triplex masts to 6,000 mm. On rough ground capacity drops sharply with height: at 6,000 mm the brochure's rough terrain rating (ISO 22915-13) is only 600-700 kg, so check the mast chart against your heaviest load.
