Choosing an Electric Empty Container Handler: Stacking Height
The Hangcha XH Series empty container handler is a battery-electric machine for stacking empty 20 ft and 40 ft containers in ports and depots. It lifts 9,000 kg and runs on a 423 kWh high-voltage lithium battery (618V system) that charges from 20% to 100% in about 1.3 hours. Two mast versions set how high it stacks.
- 7 high (8 ft 6 in containers) / 6 high (9 ft 6 in): lifts to 18,595 mm in the twistlocks, with a 10,868 mm lowered mast and a 43,500 kg service weight.
- 8 high / 7 high: lifts to 21,145 mm, with an 11,828 mm lowered mast and a 45,000 kg service weight.
Both versions use a 143 kW drive motor and an 89 kW lift motor, travel at 23/24 km/h laden and unladen, lift at 0.55/0.60 m/s and climb 20% laden. The machine is 4,120 mm wide and 6,850 mm long, turns in 6,000 mm and rides on 14.00-24 pneumatic tyres with wet disc brakes. An ELME spreader is fitted as standard, adjusting from 6,100 to 12,240 mm with 600 mm of sideshift either way. For loaded containers up to 45 t, see the XH Series electric reach stacker.
