Choosing a High Reach Forklift
Reach trucks extend the mast forward into the racking instead of carrying the load ahead of the wheels, so they work in aisles far narrower than a counterbalance forklift needs. Our range covers 1 tonne to 3 tonne, with lift heights suited to multi level racking.
Capacity falls as the mast rises, and the drop can be steep at the top of the range. Before choosing a model, measure your top beam height, your aisle width including the load overhang, and the heaviest pallet you place at height. Floor flatness matters too, since mast deflection increases at full extension.
Before you choose, check:
- Top beam height plus clearance for the pallet and mast
- Aisle width measured with the load turned, not just the truck width
- Residual capacity at the top beam, which is the figure that matters
- Floor flatness and joint condition along the aisle
- Battery type and charging pattern across your shift structure
