Forklifts for sale: finding the right type for your site
DJJ Equipment sells new Hangcha forklifts and warehouse trucks from our branches in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, with more than 100 models listed on this page. The range runs from electric pallet jacks and walkie stackers to 48 tonne diesel and high-voltage electric forklifts. Start by picking the type of machine, then match capacity, lift height and power to your loads and your site.
Types of forklift in our range
- Counterbalance forklifts, 0.6-48 t: the general purpose forklift for docks, trucks, yards and warehouses, in electric, LPG and diesel.
- Reach trucks, 1-3 t: electric trucks for high racking and narrow aisles on smooth indoor floors, including turret and VNA trucks.
- Order pickers, 0.5-2.5 t: the operator rides up with the platform to pick cartons and parts by hand.
- Walkie and rider stackers, 0.8-2 t: lighter stacking in warehouses, retail backrooms and smaller sites.
- Electric pallet jacks, 0.5-3.63 t: moving pallets at floor level, from walk-behind units to rider pallet trucks.
- All terrain forklifts, 1.5-10 t: 2WD and 4WD machines for unsealed yards, building sites and farms.
- Side loaders, 3-6 t: for long loads such as timber, pipe and steel, in electric multidirectional and diesel versions.
- Telehandlers, 2.5-4 t: a telescopic boom to place loads over obstacles on building sites and farms.
Electric, LPG or diesel
Electric forklifts produce no exhaust at the point of use and run quietly, so they suit warehouses, food sites and cold stores, and lithium models can be topped up at breaks on multi-shift work. Our electric forklifts run from 0.6 to 48 tonnes.
LPG forklifts refuel quickly with a cylinder swap and can work indoors only where ventilation is adequate. Diesel forklifts are normally outdoor machines for yards, timber, steel and heavy loads. Our LPG and diesel forklifts cover 1 to 48 tonnes.
How to size a forklift
Start with your heaviest load and how high it has to go. A rated capacity applies only at the load centre and lift height stated on the load chart, and the safe load falls as the mast goes higher or when an attachment such as a side shifter or clamp is fitted. Compare the load chart for each model, not just the headline capacity.
Then check the space: aisle width, turning room, door and container heights, and whether the forklift has to climb ramps or drive onto a truck. Last, look at your hours. A single shift with an overnight charge suits any battery type, while two or three shifts point to lithium, LPG or diesel.
Buy new, hire or rent to own
Every forklift on this page is available new, and we also sell used machines, so ask the team what is in stock. If you only need a forklift for a season or a project, we offer forklift hire on selected electric, LPG, diesel and warehouse models, with minimum hire terms depending on the machine and branch.
To spread the cost, finance is arranged through our finance partner, and pre-approval is no-cost and obligation-free. Rent to own is available on selected forklifts through our current offers, subject to finance approval. You can also trade in a forklift of any brand when you buy from us.
Why buy from DJJ Equipment
We are a Hangcha dealer, so sales, parts, warranty and servicing come from one supplier. Every machine we sell gets a pre-delivery inspection before it leaves us, and warranty terms are listed on each product page, for example 24 months or 2,000 hours on most Hangcha forklifts. After the sale, our workshops in Silverwater, Meadowbrook and Bayswater handle servicing and repairs, with on-site service within 50 km of each branch and parts for common jobs held at all three branches.
Before you choose, check:
- Your heaviest load, its size and where its weight sits on the forks
- Lift height and overhead clearance
- Aisle width, ramps and the floor or yard surface
- Indoor work, outdoor work or both
- Hours of use per day and how the forklift will charge or refuel
Send us the load weight, lift height, site conditions and how many hours a day you run, and we will recommend a machine to buy or hire. Call 1800 355 388 or send an enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you speak with the team.
Do my operators need a licence to drive a forklift?
Yes, operating a forklift truck in Australia requires a High Risk Work Licence (class LF), issued by your state regulator after training with a Registered Training Organisation. Walkie stackers and pallet jacks fall outside that definition, but operators still need training, so confirm current requirements with SafeWork NSW, WorkSafe Queensland or WorkSafe WA.
Should I hire a forklift or buy one outright?
Hire suits seasonal peaks, breakdown cover and projects with uncertain demand, while buying usually suits steady long-term use. DJJ Equipment offers short-term and long-term forklift hire on selected models, with minimum hire terms depending on the machine and branch.
Which forklift should I buy for indoor and outdoor work?
For work that moves between a warehouse and a paved yard, an electric counterbalance forklift rated for indoor and outdoor use is usually the best fit, such as units in the Hangcha XA, XC, XE and XH ranges. LPG can work indoors only where ventilation is adequate, diesel is normally an outdoor machine, and for unsealed or rough ground an all terrain forklift is the better choice. Reach trucks and walkie stackers belong on smooth indoor floors.
Can DJJ service my forklift after purchase, including other brands?
Yes. DJJ services Hangcha and can work on most major forklift brands from workshops in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, with on-site service where practical in selected areas. Check your make and model with the service team on 1300 646 747.
Is finance or rent to own available on forklifts?
Finance is arranged through DJJ's finance partner, and pre-approval is no-cost and obligation-free. Rent to own is offered on selected forklifts through current promotions, subject to finance approval, so ask the sales team which models are included right now.
How much does a new forklift cost?
Capacity sets most of the price, followed by power type, mast height, attachments and whether the battery and charger are included. As a guide, a new 2.5 to 3 t electric counterbalance forklift typically costs from the low $20,000s to about $65,000 in Australia, based on market prices as at October 2026. Product pages do not show prices, so send the load, lift height and hours for a quote, and see our current offers for machines with a published price.
